The finale season 2 is coming to an end. The second chapter of Embark Studios was an amazing experience, but it will soon end and cease to exist due to the introduction of Season 3 in just a few weeks. Before the new season arrives, Embark just released a new update, and Patch notes for the Finals update 2.10.0 include improvements along with several bug fixes.
While marketing for the next chapter has yet to officially begin, there are still exciting details we know about Season 3. A new map is coming, Embark plans to introduce a new communications feature that fans have wanted since day one, and the developer has confirmed ruby red skins are coming in response to a fake sledgehammer gun leak.
At the time of writing, the third season is scheduled for June 11. We still have to wait a few more weeks, but for the here and now, you can find the patch notes for The Finals update 2.10.0.

Balance changes
Gadgets
APS
- New feature: The APS turret now consumes a certain amount of health for each projectile it destroys
- The health costs per destroyed projectile is 40%
Weapons
Throwing knives
- The delay before the first projectile spawns has been reduced from 0.22 seconds to 0.11 seconds to make attacks more responsive
- The delay between the first and second projectiles appearing has been reduced from 0.15 seconds to 0.11 seconds, making it easier to land both blades on a moving target
- Increased the initial projectile speed from 138 m/s to 166 m/s, increasing the weapon’s precision
- Primary attack damage increased from 60 to 63
Content and bug fixes
Animation
- Fixed an issue where the camera would shake with every orbital laser charging event. These vibrations have now been removed
Audio
- Fixed voice chat not working in certain situations on Xbox
Characters
- Fixed the Darque Mood hairstyle to prevent it from briefly blacking out the first-person camera during the introduction screen
- The appearance of the Pink Chunky Wedge Trainers in the game has been fixed
Controller
- Fixed an issue where selecting contracts using a controller would break the selected focus
Game modes
- Fixed a bug where healbeam and defibrillators could be used in Terminal Attack
- Make it less likely for boxes and stations to get stuck underground
Gameplay
- The size of the Zipline anchors’ ping hitbox has been reduced
- The scale at which cableways become easier to ping from a distance can be reduced, making them less likely to absorb pings intended for other nearby targets
- Fixed an issue where unintentional freelook was enabled when interacting with objectives and statues
- Fixed an issue that made the Glitch Barrel difficult to pick up in certain situations
- Fixed an issue where players could get stuck when colliding with Goo on moving platforms
Cards
Vegas
- Fixed an issue where lens flares would incorrectly appear around the edge of the screen at sunset
- Fixed characters floating slightly above the ground during the post-match winner celebration
Progression
- Fixed an issue where a win in Terminal Attack would not count towards the ‘First Win of the Day’ and ‘Win X Games’ contracts
- Community event progress is now displayed on the leaderboard screen
- Daily contracts increase from 1000 XP to 10000 XP
- In-game performance and objective XP have been increased by 50%
Institutions
- Added support for Steam invitations
Specializations
- Fixed a bug where players could quickly melee while using the Charge ‘n’ Slam ability
- Fixed fast melee being available while using the Mesh Shield
user interface
- Added more events to the in-game score log, such as revives
- Fixed an issue where your own position was not displayed on the leaderboard screen
- Fixed quick action buttons disappearing after switching tabs in the Social menu
- Fixed an issue where the ‘Enable Voice Chat’ button would remain toggleable while typing a player report
- Fixed an issue where players could accidentally open the party menu in settings by pressing the hotkey
- Animations automatically play the current selection when you browse through customization categories
- The summary statistics in the equipment screen for FAMAS and FCAR have been updated to better reflect their alignment
- Added a new system to the frontend that limits frame rate and resolution after no user input has been received for a while or when the app is out of focus
Developer’s Note: This will help you save power and keep your PCs and consoles from working too hard when the game is idle. This only affects the main menu and can be toggled in the new Power Savings section of the Video Settings.
VFX
- Fixed an issue where some environmental stickers were appearing on the first-person meshes
Security
- We have now increased our detection of devices that emulate a controller while playing with mouse and keyboard, which is not allowed
- Updates and improvements to current detection methods for greater accuracy
